Floor Mats for Hair Salons, Barbershops and Nail Salons: Entrance, Stations and Rolling Chairs
A salon floor has three jobs for mats: welcome clients at the door, take the weight off stylists who stand all day, and let rolling stools move without marking the floor. Here's which floor mats salons, barbershops and nail studios need, and how to order them with your branding.

A stylist works eight or nine hours on their feet, turning around a chair, on a hard floor. A nail technician rolls back and forth on a stool all day. And every client walks in through the same door, often in the rain. Those are three different floor mats.
This guide is for salon owners, barbershop chains, nail studios and the salon suppliers who equip them. It covers which floor mats salons need at the door, at the stations and under rolling chairs.
The short answer
Salons need three floor mats: a nylon logo mat with a rubber backing at the entrance, a cushioned anti-fatigue mat at each styling station, cut to fit around the chair base, and a clear PVC chair mat under rolling stools and technician chairs on hard floors.
At the entrance: a logo mat
The entrance mat is the first branded thing a client steps on, and it keeps wet shoes off the salon floor. A custom logo entrance mat has a nylon surface that traps dirt and moisture and an anti-slip rubber backing, printed in full colour with your logo and matched to Pantone references. Our custom logo floor mat artwork guide covers what to send.
At the styling station: anti-fatigue mats
This is the mat that matters most to your staff. Our industrial anti-fatigue mat puts a cushioned PU foam layer under people who stand for hours, with commercial-grade cushioning made for 8-hour standing shifts, a non-slip base and a bevelled edge for a smoother step on and off.
It's also made to the size and shape you specify, including an irregular footprint around equipment. For a salon, that means a mat that wraps around the base of the styling chair, so the stylist stands on cushioning wherever they move round the client. Send the chair base size and the space around it, and the shape is confirmed during quotation and sampling. Our guide to specifying industrial anti-fatigue mats explains thickness and density.
Under rolling stools: clear chair mats
Nail technicians, colourists and barbers on rolling stools wear a track into hard floors. A clear PVC office chair mat protects the floor and lets castors roll smoothly. It's 100% PVC, with a smooth backing for hard floors or a gripped backing for carpet, in thicknesses of 1.5mm, 2mm, 2.5mm and 3mm.
Standard sizes include 75×120cm, 90×120cm, 122×122cm, 114×135cm and 117×153cm, and other sizes and shapes are available. Our chair mat sizes and thickness guide helps you size it to the station.
Cleaning salon floor mats
Hair, product and water end up on every salon mat. The anti-fatigue mats have a wipe-clean surface, and the clear PVC chair mats wipe down with a damp cloth. Entrance logo mats can be vacuumed, and for laundering programmes the nylon-and-rubber rental construction is machine-washable 300+ times.
Ordering for one salon or a chain
List the entrances, the number of styling stations and the rolling chairs per site. For a chain, keep one logo artwork and a few standard sizes; our guide to logo mats for multiple locations shows how. Custom orders typically take 20–30 days after the proof is approved, plus shipping. The clear PVC chair mat has an MOQ of 200 pieces; other MOQs are confirmed in the quote. Send us your salon plan.
