Floor Mats for Trade Show Booths: Logo Floors, Counters and Staff Comfort

A trade show booth has a few square metres to stop people walking past. The floor is the biggest surface you control. Here's which floor mats exhibitors use on the booth floor, on the counter and under staff, and how to plan them around show dates.

Large navy logo mat covering the floor of an exhibition booth with a branded table and counter

Walk down any exhibition aisle and look down. Most booths sit on the hall's grey carpet, with a banner at the back and a table at the front. Then one booth has its logo across the entire floor, and visitors step onto the brand before anyone says hello.

This guide is for exhibitors, booth builders and event marketing teams. It covers floor mats for trade show booths: the booth floor itself, the counter, the spots where staff stand all day, and the build-up before the doors open.

The short answer

Trade show booths use a large printed logo mat or carpet tiles as the booth floor, a printed counter mat on the reception counter, anti-fatigue mats where staff stand, and clear carpet protector runners during build-up. Order to the exact booth size and allow 20–30 days after artwork approval.

The booth floor: a large logo mat

A logo mat cut to the booth footprint turns the whole floor into a graphic. Our printed outdoor rubber logo mat has a nylon printed surface on a heavy anti-slip rubber base, with full-colour logo and artwork, custom size and shape, and Pantone colour matching. The rubber base is anti-slip, so the mat stays put on the hall floor as visitors walk on and off.

Design for the view from the aisle. Visitors see the floor at an angle, so put the logo where it faces the main walkway and keep small text off the floor entirely. Our custom logo floor mat artwork guide covers file formats and colour.

Or carpet tiles for a reusable floor

For a larger booth, or a stand that travels to several shows a year, carpet tiles give you a floor you can lay and lift tile by tile. Our modular carpet tile comes in a wide colour range for mix-and-match layouts, with a nylon or PP pile on a bitumen, PVC or cushion backing, in sizes such as 50×50cm and 60×60cm. Two colours in a stripe or checkerboard can echo the brand without printing. Our guide to carpet tile sizes and installation patterns shows layouts.

On the counter: printed counter mats

The reception counter is where visitors lean in and leave a business card. A printed branded counter mat puts your logo, product range or show offer in full colour on a wipe-clean PVC top with an anti-slip foam rubber base. On a demo desk the same mat doubles as an oversized branded mouse pad. Standard sizes are 12″×24″, 18″×36″ and 24″×48″; see our counter mat sizes guide to match the counter.

Where staff stand all day

Show days are long, and booth staff stand through most of them. An industrial anti-fatigue mat behind the counter or at a demo station puts cushioned PU foam under them, made for 8-hour standing shifts, with a non-slip base and a bevelled edge. It can be made in your colours with your logo, so it looks like part of the stand.

During build-up and tear-down

Build-up is when crates, ladders and wet paint meet a brand-new booth floor. A clear PVC carpet protector runner rolls out over the floor while the stand goes up, cut to length, and comes off before the show opens. Our guide to carpet protector runners for moves, renovations and events covers this use.

Planning around show dates

Work back from the show date. Every design is confirmed on a free digital proof, custom orders typically take 20–30 days after approval, and shipping comes on top of that. Send the booth dimensions, artwork and show date early, and send us your booth plan.

FAQ

Can a logo mat cover a whole trade show booth floor? Yes. Logo mats are made to custom size and shape, so a mat can be cut to the booth footprint with full-colour artwork.

Are carpet tiles good for trade show booths? Yes. Carpet tiles can be laid and lifted tile by tile, and two colours in a pattern can match the brand without printing.

What goes on a trade show booth counter? A printed counter mat with a wipe-clean PVC top and anti-slip foam rubber base, in sizes such as 18″×36″ or 24″×48″.

How early should exhibitors order custom booth mats? Allow time for a digital proof, about 20–30 days of production after approval, and shipping to the show.
